Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies…

In recent news, Amazon is going to be selling DRM-free music. It is a major step for the currently controversy filled world of music copyrighting. Duncan Riley of Techcrunch comments that it is interesting that while Apple has voiced opposition to DRM, it is still the top seller of DRM music. It seems that Apple is more willing to play by the rules and change them before breaking them, while Amazon has the guts to believe that by breaking the rules, they will be fixing them. It is a very compelling company paradigm dynamic which clearly shows that Amazon is keeping (to a certain degree) to its startup roots with its fearlessness.

In other news, Amy made the team some great cookies to help us going late into the night. Thanks Amy!

I’m also looking into getting an ultraportable laptop. Been looking at Vaios, Lifebooks, and Thinkpads… but I’m having trouble getting some real good reviews. Anyone know where I can go or have any suggestions?

My entire family came into town to visit this past week! It’s been pretty good, but also very busy, hence why my posting has been so low.

After today though, my brother will be leaving so I should be free to post at will! Yay!

It’s been a while since my last post, mainly due to being ultra busy.  I really wanted to make my next post one with pictures from the Guitar Hero Tournament but alas this would not be the case.   Still, that’s no excuse for a lack of updates.

I’ve been asked to take over the official blog of Mosoto, so I will be doing that as well from now on.  Be sure to check it out!  Also, I’m starting to step up the marketing end of Mosoto as we are brainstorming and in the process of planning several different marketing strategies to get the word out.  If you have any really good ideas, you can sell them to some large corporations or you can be cool and tell me for free! ;-)

In other news, my friend Will has joined the Mosoto team as an intern for the summer, which is really cool.  I’ve known him and his family since before I can remember.   Hopefully we can get him on for the long haul.  I think I whipped out Final Fantasy Tactics this past week just because I knew he would be coming in (we played that game so many hours).

Oh and speaking of marketing… one of the ideas will involve lots of Mosoto t-shirts… anyone want one? Maybe I’ll throw one your way (when we get them) if you comment and let me know a little about yourself! :-)

Mosoto is co-sponsoring a Guitar Hero tournament that’s being held at the University of Arizona. We should be doing a demo during the finals event too. Pictures to come soon after the event!

Things have been getting pretty busy at the office… lots of deadlines and milestones to meet. There’s been a lot of people chatting and sharing in mosoto, and I’ve met some pretty cool people too. Should be some craziness soon when we put out some more new stuff. :-)

I got Girard started on Entourage. What a great show! The characters remind us of… well… us!

On another note… Twitter is no fun with no friends. :-( If I was in the valley, I’m sure I could make a lot of Twitter friends… oh well.

I’m looking to upgrade my cell phone at some point this summer (currently I’m using a SLVR). And here’s the million dollar question…

To iPhone or not to iPhone?

I also want to start playing some poker for fun. I recently won a small tournament (Yay! $100 Southwest Air Gift Certificate!) and want to start playing a couple times a month. Must… wait… until… summer… sigh… :-(

According to Mashable, Facebook has added in mobile status updates, adding functionality that is almost exactly the same as Twitter. From the way Facebook’s status updates worked previously, it should not have been a big deal to add the mobile updates. Twitter still maintains its usefulness to current Twitter users as one can get status updates from any source regardless of social network, such as “stalkees” (not that anyone would do that…) and websites like Mashable. Also, many people who use Facebook may have diluted the relevance of their friend network with each random friend added. However, what Facebook’s new addition might do is stunt Twitter’s adoption rate as people now have a mainstream alternative.

On another note, did anyone see Heroes tonight? I’m trying to figure out what makes me watch this show every Monday. Somehow I’m not convinced that it’s a great show. I feel like I’m watching more to see the ending to the crazy plot rather than for the character development or the acting because I think they are both mediocre.

Mosoto has gone open Alpha tonight! If you have a Facebook account, make sure to check it out!

Has anyone seen the Aquateen Hunger Force movie? I’m debating whether or not it’s worth seeing in theaters.

Finally, I would like to offer my sympathy to those affected by last week’s events at Virginia Tech and wish the students luck as they return to school this week.

So I have been upgrading to Web 2.0, starting a blog, signed up for twitter (although I am currently friendless… so my updates go to no one :-( ), and of course I started watching Justin.tv so I can be one of the cool kids.

But I think I’m stuck because I can’t think of anything else I can use to become even more Web 2.0-ified.

Some help or suggestions? :-)

Oh and some pictures from the San Francisco trip!

Just a quick recap of our adventures in San Francisco during the Web2.0 Expo.

First off, I forgot San Francisco is COLD. I brought one hoodie and the rest of my clothes were dress shirts and t-shirts. Not only that, but we quickly learned that our hotel was in the middle of the region of San Fran known as the “Tenderloin.” But Girard and I were still in high spirits as the trip had nowhere to go but up. :)

Next, I have to reaffirm that Chinese food in Tucson is terrible and we totally capitalized on our opportunity to really eat some good food, be it a Chinese buffet, sushi (which I’m still not a big fan of), or pizza. We also got in some good exercise as we walked about a mile everyday to and from the conference.

Overall, Girard and I didn’t get as much out of the sessions and workshops as we wanted as they seemed to be geared more towards mid to large companies and how to “become more web 2.0.” But, we did meet many many interesting people in the web 2.0 sector. We met some people who have been keeping track of Mosoto during our brief Web2Open session (which we were afraid of people not showing up). We also got a chance to meet Robert Scoble for a minute before we presented, which was pretty cool. Somehow we ran into Justin.tv too, but unfortunately (fortunately?) for us ijustine was subbing for Justin that day. Apparently Girard and I are nerds who have no game. :-P

Last but not least, we met the Facebook guys! We had a chance to meet with Ari, Dave M. and Dave F. and many others when we checked out their place in Palo Alto.

Until next time…
