I’m leaving for Florida tomorrow to get some R&R before going back to work in a week.  Meeting up with some old friends should be fun and it has been a while since I’ve done a beach thing.

So it may be a few days before another post… I may try to put up some pictures while I’m out there.  Can’t wait.

I feel like I’m starting over in every sense of the word.  Starting from fresh with relationships, work, and just life in general.  It’s nice having a breath of fresh air, but not easy.

Breaking up a couple weeks ago wasn’t easy.  I still mull over whether I made the right decision.  But I know it would’ve gotten progressively harder for me if we continued… But I do miss her a lot.

I’m on a break from work to clear my head, refresh my body.  Meanwhile teaching myself to work with some API’s and learn PHP and Javascript.  It’s been cool but also frustrating to try and figure out how to mesh the two without having good experience in both individually.  But I’m learning new things, and maybe this project will be successful whenever I finish it (hopefully within a few weeks).

Life seems to be getting faster… I think it’s nearing that time when I go all-in and really become a game-changer.

Still working for the Canadian startup.  Taking a break right now, and trying to work on my own stuff.  I’ve lost 50 pounds in 18 months, but gained like 10 of it back.  Dated someone for 9 months and recently broke up.

Life keeps going, and some of it is really good while other parts have been pretty bad.  Just have to keep my eyes on the prize and give it my all.

Yeah, it’s definitely been a while…

So I’m a little nostalgic right now.  The start-up I’m working with is launching tomorrow, and it brings me back to the old days… the excitement/nervousness and stress, coupled with the laundry list of stuff that still needs to get done, and let’s not forget the fact that you usually don’t get sleep before launching.

It’s essence of an oxymoron in experience form.  I’m sure all of you in start-ups know what I mean.

In either case, wish us luck. We’re gonna need it.

So 2010 has been a very strange year for me… lots of changes, lots of new experiences, both happy and sad.  Both my grandmothers passing away this year, moving back to New York, finding a new job opportunity, my first trip back to Korea in 12 years, and so much more.

I’m glad I did go to Korea to see her in July.  I was hoping she could make it through, but I can see it was just time.  I appreciate all you’ve done for me and my brothers and will miss you immensely.

Everyone should be looking forward to the Arizona at Stanford game this weekend. It’s going to be a crazy game, and I think the winner is going to be whoever makes bigger plays on special teams. I predict Arizona takes it 35-31.

10. Donkey Kong Jr. Math (NES): Yes. I used to play this as a kid with my brother. Did we actually do math? Heck no! We just tried to see who could knock the other person off the platforms first! There’s never too many educational games right?

9. TMNT, Turtles in Time (SNES): This beat’em up series started with TMNT 2 the Arcade Game and defined awesome. They put out a few sequels but stopped at the SNES.  They need to make moar! Nao!

8. Warcraft (PC): No, I’m not talking World of Warcraft, although they seem to be about due for a sequel.  I’m talking about the RTS that ended with the 3rd installment.  Yeah, they just put out Starcraft 2 so they’re probably not going to work on it for a while, but I fully expect Blizzard to put out Warcraft 4 after the other 2 parts of Starcraft, WoW’ Cataclysm, and Diablo 3.

7. RC Pro-AM (NES): One of the most fun games ever that pitted weaponized remote control cars against each other in a race.  They did make a sequel that didn’t do too well for the NES, because by that time the SNES was already out and basically was a game system behind.

6. Duck Hunt (NES): Everyone knows this game and how classic it is.  And still we have yet to see a sequel… WTF?

5. Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (Gamecube) - This particular installment of Zelda got the short end of the stick because everyone was expecting the Twilight Princess.  Instead they got a cel-shaded game that seemed like a kiddie game. But behind the cartoon graphics is probably one of the best Zelda games ever made.

4. Ikaruga (Gamecube/Dreamcast) – The game that revived the vertical scrolling shooter got tons of acclaim as one of the hardest and most ingenious games ever made.  What did it get in return for such accolades? No sequel.  Fail.

3. River City Ransom (NES) - They ported this classic beat’em up to the GBA, but ports aren’t sequels right?  Maybe it’s better they didn’t make a sequel to this game, because there was too much replay value in the original… A sequel may have felt like too much of the same with extra cost.

2. Chrono Trigger (SNES) - Probably the greatest RPG ever created, Chrono Trigger set the bar for greatness in the genre.  Not only did you get an amazing storyline, you got a multitude of characters and combo attacks that utilized multiple members of your party.Of course, who can forget the fact that you can fight the final boss at pretty much any point in the game, each leading to different endings.  Of course, you’re going to say “But they made Chrono Cross!” to which anyone who played it will say that it wasn’t a true sequel.

1. Final Fantasy Tactics (PSO) – This had to be one of the greatest games ever made by Square, and basically one of the best strategy games ever made period.  But where are the sequels?  And no, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and Final Fantasy Tactics A2 on GBA and DS don’t count.  They took away so many intricate details like the spell cast timer, and added stupid things like judges and laws.  Game making rule number one kids, you don’t make a game harder by restricting what the player can do.  You make the game harder by making the enemies smarter, stronger, and harder to beat.

So last night, I watched Chuck and Monday Night Football as I usually do.  I have to say that last night’s Chuck was just fantastic.  I don’t want to spoil it, so I’m going to say that there were three memorable moments:  Ellie and Momma Bartowski, Momma Bartowski and Morgan, and finally Timothy Dalton.  Basically this was my favorite episode since the season opener and I think it’s the 2nd best episode so far in Chuck’s short history behind the season 2 finale.

Monday night was a great game between AFC South teams.  The Texans played some really good defense, but ultimately they couldn’t stop Peyton Manning despite the lack of a running game and Dallas Clark.  Arian Foster looked great, but Schaub was definitely off his game because of the Colts pressure.

In other news, Randy Moss was let go by the Vikings.  He allegedly criticized the team food, which was catered by a local mom-and-pop restaurant, in front of the people.  Fail at being a decent human being.

Next, I know I didn’t post on Friday.  Sorry, I was pretty busy trying to find a new car.  Unfortunately, I didn’t get one.  Probably will in a couple weeks.
