Let’s Not Forget…
This weekend was Memorial Day, which is the unofficial launch of summer. People start to head out to the beaches, fire up the grills, and soak in the sun. However, like many of the other official holidays observed here in the U.S., the underlying reason for this chance to skip a Monday of work and cheer for a long weekend is long forgotten. Memorial Day’s purpose is to commemorate men and women of the United States who died in military service. We owe a lot of what we can do today to those who died both on and off the battlefield, since the war for independence to the conflicts of today.
God bless.
