Wait… What’s the difference between the BART, Muni, and CalTrain?
Just a quick recap of our adventures in San Francisco during the Web2.0 Expo.
First off, I forgot San Francisco is COLD. I brought one hoodie and the rest of my clothes were dress shirts and t-shirts. Not only that, but we quickly learned that our hotel was in the middle of the region of San Fran known as the “Tenderloin.” But Girard and I were still in high spirits as the trip had nowhere to go but up.
Next, I have to reaffirm that Chinese food in Tucson is terrible and we totally capitalized on our opportunity to really eat some good food, be it a Chinese buffet, sushi (which I’m still not a big fan of), or pizza. We also got in some good exercise as we walked about a mile everyday to and from the conference.
Overall, Girard and I didn’t get as much out of the sessions and workshops as we wanted as they seemed to be geared more towards mid to large companies and how to “become more web 2.0.” But, we did meet many many interesting people in the web 2.0 sector. We met some people who have been keeping track of Mosoto during our brief Web2Open session (which we were afraid of people not showing up). We also got a chance to meet Robert Scoble for a minute before we presented, which was pretty cool. Somehow we ran into Justin.tv too, but unfortunately (fortunately?) for us ijustine was subbing for Justin that day. Apparently Girard and I are nerds who have no game.
Last but not least, we met the Facebook guys! We had a chance to meet with Ari, Dave M. and Dave F. and many others when we checked out their place in Palo Alto.
Until next time…
